Drinking Hot Water, Lemon Juice & Coconut Oil in the Morning
Consider switching your regular cup of coffee, with a hot water, lemon juice and coconut oil blend, first thing in the morning.
Starting your day with this combination will hugely benefit your body and your mind. Including helping you to lose weight and keep hydrated, improving your digestion, increasing your vitamin C intake, and boosting energy levels for both body and mind.
Lemons, water and coconut oil are fat flushing. Water helps you to stay hydrated. Dehydration can cause the body to store fat because in this state the kidneys will call on the liver for help, which hampers the livers ability to burn energy. Coconut oil is converted directly into energy by the liver, and both lemon and coconut oil stimulate and regulate metabolism.
The combination of water and oil can also act as an appetite suppressant, making you satisfied with less food throughout the day.
Lemon water cleanses your palate on the way down. Once in your body, it helps gently flush your kidneys and your liver of wastes and toxins. Coconut oil behaves as a natural antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral tonic in the body, flushing out unwanted bacteria, and viral over loads and reducing stress on the body’s organs. Coconut oil can help detox the body of some of its most stubborn toxic waste.
Lemon provides a high amount of vitamin C, which boosts your immune system and assists digestion. Coconut oil helps with the absorption of vitamins and sends fuel to the brain by creating ketones. Ketones are what your body produces when it converts a good fat (as opposed to glucose) into energy. A primary source of ketone bodies, are the Medium Chain Fatty Triglycerides (MCT’s) found in coconut oil.
I like to start the day with a big lemon zing and blast of coconut energy. So I use the juice of half a lemon, with a tablespoon of Coconut Magic coconut oil and stir the two together into a nice big cup of warm (or hot) water.
