How did becoming a Wellness Woman begin for you? What was your inspiration?

I was always into good health and was inspired by the chiropractic profession when an adjustment changed my whole life as I didn't realise my pelvis was rotated and therefore affecting my digestion and other areas of wellness. Having my spine and nerve system checked and realigned allowed clearer messages to flow from my brain to the rest of my body and the philosophy of chiropractic along with making my body function better through a better working nervous system changed my looks and overall health. They believe you address the cause, not just the symptom. And, it's through our nerve systems that we perceive the world, adapt to stress and co-ordinate all body parts. It's the foundation to health. There are wellness chiropractors that inspire their patients holistically with nutrition and how to remove other toxicities and stressors so I began my crusade.

I notice you promote the Paleo lifestyle, please tell us what you find most beneficial in the Paleo diet.

Including more fats and proteins and less refined carbs is what's good about the Paleo diet.

I believe in getting less protein and fats though from animal sources and more from nuts and seeds, especially tahini because it's made from sesame seeds and is so high in calcium!

Where and how does coconut and coconut oil fit within your health and fitness journey?

It's imperative! I use it as a sunscreen, a moisturiser and hair treatment. In cooking I fry with it because its the only oil that doesn't lose it's molecular structure and become carcinogenic when you heat it up to a certain temperature. Coconut Magic is supreme. I used it on my massage client yesterday! Wow.

What are your thoughts on eating fat for staying slim?

Good fats help you feel satiated on a nutritional level and your brain only switches off it's hunger mechanism when it is full nutritionally. Keep this in mind because in the Western World we are programmed to eat low-fat since the 80's. It's the one thing missing from our diet and so when we start including these 'essential' fatty acids, we feel satisfied and don't keep searching for that something else!

Your skin is beautiful, please share with us your top tips for taking care of your skin.

My Top 10 Tips for natural, Botox-free, filler-free and make-up free glowing skin:

1. Get adequate VIT.D - expose your skin to soft morning or late afternoon sunlight for 20 mins a day.

2. Eat plenty of EFAs - essential fatty acids found in nuts, seeds, avocados, oily fish and coconut oil.

3. Use Coconut Magic cold pressed coconut oil for as a make-up remover and moisturiser.

4. Limit alcohol and caffeine to twice a week.

5. Consume plenty of water, filtered if possible and eat foods that contain water and life; fresh, live foods that are as close to nature as possible and give you life. Avoid processed foods.

6. Use Proplenish Marine Collagen in drinks and food.

7. Laugh lots and don't take life so seriously!

8. Switch off all technology for an hour before bed time for a better quality sleep.

9. Have regular wellness chiropractic check ups! Research shows how chiropractic can change DNA structure. Look up the works of Dr Bruce Lipton and epigenetics.

10. Include regular movement or exercise into your lifestyle. Movement runs the brain.

You also look quite vivacious and active, what do you do for fun?

When I catch up with my friends we like to go for a walk along the seaside or a nature / rainforest walk. We like to listen to music, be silly and dance or train some sort of sport. It may be martial arts to learn a new skill or Crossfit.

With your busy lifestyle juggling family, work and media how do you stick to your wellness regime?

I educate myself on the benefits of how incorporating those things into my life actually make a difference to my overall wellness and that keeps me inspired.
Also, in my latest book Real Fit Food, I explain what types of training are more time efficient so you can still get results and all my recipes are able to be made in under ten minutes!

If you could summarise your health and fitness message into one sentence, what would it be?

Do things and eat things that are natural and as close to nature as possible.

How many books have you authored and what are all of their names. Are you going to continue writing on wellness?

I've done five and two are best sellers! I am currently writing a 6th book but it's a secret at the moment as to what it's about. I can say it will be a whole lot of fun and has something to do with dating!
