pH level is a measurement that I’m sure you’ve heard of before. It measures the acidity or alkalinity of a substance or of an environment. Your body holds a tight reign over its pH levels, and has an abundance of mechanisms that come into play to help regulate the different levels, in different parts of your body.
It is commonly believed that because your body regulates its pH level within a tight scale that what you consume won’t have much impact on this.
An alkaline body is considered the best for fighting disease and healing. The current modern-day diet is made up of predominately acid producing foods, so foods that decrease your pH (which turns you more acidic) after consumption. It’s not only the food you eat but also the action of stress, alcohol consumption and stimulants like coffee, tea and tobacco that can have acidifying effects on the body.
Coconut cider vinegar has an alkalising effect on the body, although it is considered acidic, upon digestion it stimulates processes that will decrease overall acidity of the body. So, if you are a coffee drinker, or if you indulge over the weekend, have a shot of coconut cider vinegar and assist your system to function at its best.
